For the plum tomato grower who wants it all!
The Romanto and Romidoro are Syngenta's answer to the demand from the plum tomato segment for productive, generative varieties, insensitive to blossom end rot and with ToBRFV resistance.
The Romanto (TIAM23-4621) is suitable for both loose harvest and bunch harvest. The somewhat coarser fruits (110-120g) guarantee a very high production of good quality.
Romidoro (TIAM23-4633) is an early, highly productive variety with high quality fruits and an average fruit weight of approx. 100g, making Romidoro very suitable for packaging in various consumer packaging.

Syngenta has always had a strong portfolio in small tomatoes, and we want to stay that way. With new varieties in the snack tomato and Mini San Marzano segments, we also bring ToBRFV-resistant options for growers who don't want to compromise on taste.
First of all our TIAM23-4657, a mini San Marzano on the vine, special in shape and taste, wanted and appreciated by many. The TIAM23-4657 can be recognized by its beautiful, red fruits with their characteristic, elongated shape with dent and an average fruit weight of about 20-24g. Suitable for illuminated and unilluminated cultivation, a sister of our well-known Dubbo, but then with ToBRFV.
In addition, we are introducing a new snack tomato with premium taste, the TIAM24-5016 . This tomato, in the range of the well-known Sweetelle and Angelle, combines the characteristic fruit shape, color and excellent taste with which Syngenta conquered the snack tomato market, with ToBRFV resistance. Commercially available from the end of September, can now be viewed and tasted in Tomato Vision, you are most welcome !

Extra protection against ToBRFV
You choose a rootstock for its properties that help you get the maximum production from the variety you are growing. Without compromising on that maximum growth power and production, you can choose resistant rootstocks from Syngenta that offer extra protection in the fight against ToBRFV.
Last summer, Syngenta introduced Kronosor, a ToBRFV-resistant rootstock that performs just as well as the market standard. Fervour has now been added, with the same performance and an extra Fusarium resistance. And we also have a rootstock for strongly vegetative varieties, Armour .
Our rootstocks can be perfectly combined with various tomato types, from snack tomatoes to beef tomatoes, with upper stems from Syngenta and others.
In a non-resistant rootstock, virus particles present in the sap flow of the plant can multiply. Back in the plant, these virus particles can still have an impact on plant performance, even when the variety is resistant.
Research has shown that virus particles do not multiply in Syngenta rootstocks, making our rootstocks a simple and cost-effective way to complement your ToBRFV measures.
